Wondering how your favorite college players are doing in summer league action? Wonder no more.

Six teams are squaring off in Orlando. Check out this article and future pieces that clue you in on your favorite rising stars in Indiana, Boston, Orlando, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Utah, Indiana, and Oklahoma City. (The Nets and 76ers formed a joint team.)

Here’s a look at the star and dud of the day, as well as all the other players who delivered performances worth mentioning.

Keep a look out for more summer league news as the week rolls on.

Star of the Day: Marreese Speights, PF/C, Philadelphia 76ers

Speights was a mixed bag in his first stint in summer league action, as he dropped in an impressive 28 points, but did so off of an ungodly 26 shots.

He logged over 36 minutes, got to the line six times, and also chipped in 11 rebounds to go with two blocked shots.

Speights is clearly a player to keep an eye on, but his shot selection needs improvement, and his production is clearly overblown due to his poor shooting percentages.

Final line: 28 Pts, 11 Reb, 2 Blk

Chris Douglas-Roberts, G/F, New Jersey Nets

Douglas-Roberts showed off his solid offensive ability, as he got to the line 11 times, while pouring in an impressive 20 points in his first summer league game.

Douglas-Roberts played solid defense and shot the ball well.

Unfortunately, he didn’t take care of the ball too well, as he racked up four turnovers.

Final line: 20 Pts, 3 Reb, 2 Stl, 4 TO’s

Jrue Holiday, G, Philadelphia 76ers

Holiday was far from a top performer on Monday, but he’s a name worth mentioning.

With nearly 38 minutes logged, Holiday dropped in a mediocre 9 points off of 3-11 shooting, and only chipped in a meager two assists.

Holiday didn’t do a great job of displaying his point guard skills, and really didn’t have a great performance, overall.

Final line: 9 Pts, 4 Reb, 2 Asst, 4 Stl, 5 TO’s

Dud of the Day: Terrence Williams, G/F, New Jersey Nets

Williams was awful in his first action as an NBA player, going 1-8 from the field, while dropping in just two points.

In over 34 minutes of action, Williams was incredibly weak and passive, failing to get to the line even once, and settling for long jumpers.

He never found his shot, and outside of a solid 9 rebounds, had a pitiful showing.

Final line: 2 Pts, 9 Reb, 2 Asst, 2 Stl, 2 TO’s, 3 BS

Tyler Hansbrough, PF, Indiana Pacers

With 17 points and 5 rebounds, Hansbrough got his NBA career off to a solid start, even if it is just the summer league.

Hansbrough shot well and did a decent job getting to the foul line, but struggled defensively, as he finished the game with 5 personal fouls.

Final line: 17 Pts, 5 Reb, 3 Stl, 2 TO’s, 1 BS

Roy Hibbert, C, Indiana Pacers

Hibbert dropped in a solid effort in the first action of the summer, as he went a solid 6-10 from the field, scoring 12 points in 29 minutes.

With 9 total rebounds, Hibbert was a force on the glass, and he even added a blocked shot.

Hibbert was not effective inside, however, as he was unable to earn even one trip to the foul line. While his performance was solid, it wasn’t the dominating performance Indiana knows Hibbert is capable of.

Final line: 12 Pts, 9 Reb, 3 TO’s, 1 BS

Russell Westbrook, G, Oklahoma City Thunder

We already know what Westbrook is capable of, but with 22 points and 9 assists, his first night in the summer league was worth mentioning.

Wesbtook had a forgettable shooting night (3-11), but was extremely effective at getting to the line (16-18), as he penetrated with ease, creating for himself and his teammates whenever he felt like it.

Final line: 22 Pts, 9 Asst, 5 Reb, 4 TO’s

James Harden, G/F, Oklahoma City Thunder

Harden was his unspectacular, yet solid self, as he connected on 6 of 9 shots, enroute to 17 points in his first summer league action.

He connected on two of his three downtown attempts, and also went 3-3 at the foul line.

Harden is proving right out of the gates that he should be the starting shooting guard in Oklahoma City, allowing Kevin Durant to slide over to his more natural position at small forward.

Final line: 17 Pts, 4 Reb, 3 TO’s

Ryan Anderson, F, Orlando Magic

The former Net was impressive in his debut with the Magic, as he scored 21 points off of 6-14 shooting, and also chipped in with 7 rebounds.

Anderson brings good versatility to Orlando, as he has the size and strength to score down-low, but also has range all the way out to the NBA-three, which can open things up for the rest of the offense.

Final line: 21 Pts, 7 Reb, 3 Asst, 2 TO’s, 1 Stl, 1 BS

Nick Fazekas, F, Boston Celtics

Fazekas, trying to earn a spot with Boston or catch the eye of another NBA team, put in some solid minutes off the bench, and contributed offensively.

With 13 points off of 5-10 shooting (3-6 from three), Fazekas displayed his range and variety of offensive moves and shots.

He’s a very skilled offensive player, although he lacks ideal speed and quickness.

Final line: 13 Pts, 5 Reb,

There is, but it probably won’t be available for a while. You need NBA TV to watch the summer league games.

Aside from judging and scouting the players, though, it’s rarely exciting action.

The leagues usually only last a week, as well.
