NBA Summer League: Las Vegas, Vol. 3

Just as in the first nights of games, there were a few big performances that were noteworthy.
The list has dropped considerably, but with players such as Blake Griffin and Earl Clark set to make their debuts on Monday night, things could get even more interesting.
Follow your favorite college players trying to make a name for themselves in the NBA summer league:
Darren Collison, PG, New Orleans Hornets
Collison showed right away that he was at least somewhat deserving of a first-round selection, as he displayed sound offensive game, as well as good vision while manning the point.
He should serve as a very capable back-up to Chris Paul.
Final line: 19 Pts, 6 Ast, 5 Reb
Marcus Thornton, SG, New Orleans Hornets
Thornton’s calling-card in college was his ability to score, and it was no different in his first summer league action.
He went 8-19 from the field, and also got to the line at a decent rate, going 5-6.
Final line: 25 Pts, 6 Reb, 2 Stl
George Hill, G/F, San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs already know what they have in Hill, but the summer league is simply a platform for him to continue to show them how his game has improved.
And offensively, it’s reached a very high level.
Final line: 25 Pts, 4 Reb, 3 Ast
Marcus Williams, PG, Memphis Grizzlies
In an absolute blowout over the Thunder, Williams led the Grizzlies potent and spread-out attack, dishing out assists-after-assist, while also chipping in seven points on 3-9 shooting.
Williams has always had only a mediocre offensive game, but his vision and passing ability is what keeps his potential interesting.
Final line: 7 Pts, 17 Ast, 4 Reb
Player of the Day: Brandon Jennings, PG, Milwaukee Bucks
Jennings made a decent debut on Friday, but his Sunday performance was the one that showed the most promise.
Jennings’ shot is still average, but his ability to create for himself and others is quite possibly unmatched by any other player that has played in the league through Sunday night.
He’s also very active on defense, as he grabbed five steals, while only registering three personal fouls.
Final line: 23 Pts, 8 Ast, 5 Stl
